Document Description
The Project will allow the City of comply with the United States Environmental Protection Agency Final Consent Decree and improve the quality of sewer pipelines in the City by replacing and rehabilitating approximately 450 miles of sewer pipeline by June 2013. The Project will implement a pipeline rehabiliation program to meet the USEPA requirements in reducing sanitary sewer spills, groundwater infiltration and inflow, and maintenance costs, and extending the service life of aging sewer pipelinies. To date, the City has rehabiliated approximately 300 miles of the 450 miles of sewer pipeline of the remaining 150 miles of sewer pipeline that need rehabilitation. The Project will involve: 1) rehabilitating an additional seven miles of sewer pipeline using the cured-in-place or the Ribloc spiral liner trenchless pipeline repair methods; 2) rehabilitationg 19 manholes; 3) replacing 13 manholes; 4) installing 43 new cleanouts; and 5) conducting internal and external point repairs of the pipeline.
