Document Description
The City of San Diego is proposing a Capital Improvement Project for the rehabilation approximately 7.25 miles of existing 8-inch diameter sewer pipelines located within the City's right-of-way and City-owned easements. The project would also include the installation of 43 new cleanouts, rehabilitation of 19 manholes, replacement of 13 manholes, and includes 33 point/spot repairs. Two trenchless methods of sewer main rehabilitation may be used for this project. Both methods would require access from either two manholes or a manhole and cleanout for each pipe segment.

The improvements noted above involve trenchless repair or work over existing pipelines via excavation to expose an existing damaged sewer line for the purpose of rehabilitation to damaged sewer facilities or to install MHs/cleanouts where they are needed. Restoration or rehabilitation of deteriorated or damaged structures to met current standards of public health and safety, replacement or reconstruction of existing utility systems involving negligible or no expansion of capacity, construction of new structures, and where the exceptions listed in CEQA Section 15300.2 would not apply.
