Document Description
The project involves the development of approximate one acre secured off leash dog area inside this 3.21 acre park. It will convert an open turf area with a softball field into a secured off leash dog area. Project components include: (1) remove existing softball field and backstop (2) Install turf in the current infield area (3) Installing approximately 700 linear feet of fencing within the park, (4) modifying ADA parking and walkways to comply with current ADA codes. Once compete the project will provide a secure fenced dog park of almost one full acre to meet the community's request for this recreational amenity. The entire park is currently being utilized as a non-secured off leash area by park patrons. This conversion has been requested by the community through petitions, board participation and the development of Friends of Camarillo Dog Parks. The Friends of Camarillo Dog Park has solicited donations and endowments to fund half of the project costs for this conversion.
