Document Description
The Project requests a Use Permit(s) and Site Development Permit to allow for development of St. Michael's Abbey Project. The Project includes development of a new Monastery Church, a Monastery School and associated recreational facilities, as well as a Convent, Guest Cottages, Chapel, and Agricultural/Maintenance buildings. The main buildings would be clustered in the central portion of the site and would preserve approximately 68.7 acres (55 percent of the site) in undisturbed open space, with an additional 37.6 acres (30.4 percent of the site) of green space areas, including agricultural fields, athletic fields, landscaped areas, water quality features, and gardens. The Monastery Church would serve as the home of the Norbertine Fathers of Orange, accommodating up to 85 Fathers and up to 12 nuns. The Monastery School would accommodate up to 100 students, who would reside onsite during the school week.
