The Airport Land Use Commission (ALUC) for Merced County is proposing to adopt an Airport Land Use Compatibility Plan for Castle Airport to replace the currently adopted compatibility plan for the airport which is a component of the Merced County Airport Land Use Compatibility Plan (April 1999). The proposed Compatibility Plan defines the area, referred to as the Airport Influence Area, wherein current or future airport-related noise, overflight, safety, or airspace protection factors may significantly affect land uses or necessitate restrictions on those uses. The proposed boundary of the Airport Influence Area extends approx. 3.8 statue miles northward and 5.0 statute southward beyond the Airport's runway ends at its furthest points. The Airport influence Area encompasses lands within the County of Merced, and City of Merced and Atwater.
