Document Description
The proposed project is designed to repair and maintain the efficiency of the American River Hatchery settling pond to discharge water during a severe plugging event. The design includes the installation of a second outlet structure consisting of a 6-foot crest cipoletti weir in the pond and a 42-inch discharge pipe extending 260 feet from the pond to the American River set at the same depth as an existing 24-inch adjacent pipe. The outlet will utilize the existing rocked slope revetment at the bank of the American River. A temporary rock berm will be placed at the toe of the levee prior to excavation of the keyway to prevent water turbidity. No work will be conducted in-river.
