Document Description
The first project component consists of a number of improvements to the existing cogeneration plant. These include the installation of Selective Catalytic Reactors (SCRs), an Ammonia Injection Grid (AIG) and a UREA-to-ammonia on-demand system, as well as the installation of an automation system, and redesign of the operating sequence and logic that controls this system. The net benefits of these improvements will include increased steam capacity, a reduction in boiler run time, cost savings due to reduced demand from external electricity sources (especially during peak use rates), and a significant decrease in greenhouse gas emissions. All of this work will take place on existing mechanical systems within previously developed areas within the existing secure perimeter.
