Document Description
The RAW focuses on the excavation of soils in the northern portion of the project site containing the following chemicals of potential concern (COPCs): arsenic, lead, and dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (DDE), and the backfilling of these excavated areas with clean soil. The excavated soil will be transported off-site to an appropriate permitted landfill for disposal. The DTSC project does not include the demolition of on-site buildings, which is an activity associated with the subsequent redevelopment project that will undergo a separte CEQA evaluation by the City of San Jose; the scope of the DTSC project is limited to the excavation of impacted soil and backfilling with clean soil.
