Document Description
The project will be undertaken to provide critically needed water supplies to water users in SLWD and DEID. The project involves transfer of up to 12,000 acre feet (af) of Central Valley (CVP) water supply currently surplus to SLWD and at risk of spilling because the San Luis Reservoir is nearing capacity. SLWD will transfer the 12,000 af to RRBWSD for infiltration into their underground storage program. In exchange, through the existing RRBWSD-DEID water banking program, RRBWSD will make up 6,000 af available to DEID for use in a subsequent water year. In return DEID will provide up to 6,000 af to SLWD in future years by way of an existing water recirculation program, beneficial to the San Joaquin River Restoration Program. DEID and SLWD will benefit from up to 6,000 af of critical water supplies which would otherwise not be available.
