Document Description
Wooden structures of the historic Hunt and Hi-Up (McCullough) Ranches at Wildwood Canyon are deteriorating as the existing paint weathers and flakes from the buildings. The facilities, dating as early as 1932, have tested positive for lead paint. The Hunt Ranch barn and Hi-Up house will be treated for lead by a licensed abatement contractor to EPA standards, the wood sealed, and both buildings repainted in their original white color scheme. The district archaeologist will be available to monitor and approve all treatments as necessary. Other buildings within the park, including barns, sheds, outbuildings, and fences, will be similarly treated and repainted as future funding allows.
