Document Description
The project site encompasses 11,250 sf, ~0.258 acre of land, and it is currently developed with four structures. Based on historical records, the subject property was developed by 1888 for residential purposes with the existing house (Pearson House) and outbuilding along Bryant Street. The Pearson House is listed on the City's local registry as an historic resource. An outbuilding along Villa Street was constructed by 1897 for use as a shed. The Pearson House was last used as a commercial structure while the onsite cottages last known uses were residential. The project site's buildings are presently vacant.
The Downtown Precise Plan provides guidance for the preservation of historic buildings within the community. Downtown Mountain View is the symbolic and historic center of the City. The Plan's vision for downtown is to preserve the mix of buildings, the pedestrian-scaled environment, and the carefully designed public spaces that contribute to its special community character.
