Document Description
The Operator proposes to construct levee improvements along the south side of Twitchell Island to increase the levee's resistance to erosion, provide better overall levee stability, and provide enhanced rearing and out-migrating habitat for juvenile salmonids. Improvements include nearly 4 miles of new foundation berm and setback levee, raising the height of an existing setback levee, a new sheet-pile wall, a new dryland levee across Chevron Point, and creation of channel margin habitat. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement Number 1600-2014-0422-3 pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Chris Neudeck, Reclamation District 1601.
