Document Description
The project will take place on Reeves Canyon Road, an unpaved throughway maintained by Mendocino County Department of Transportation that crosses private land. The proposed work will replace an existing wet crossing through Mill Creek with a two-span, cement-and-steel bridge. An existing downstream rock weir that causes the creek in the crossing area to be shallow and wide will be removed to allow the creek to reestablish a more natural geometry. The site will be graded to bring bridge approaches level and to allow two ranch access roads that currently connect to Reeves Canyon Road in the project area to connect to the new bridge approaches. An existing failed culvert will be replaced with a new culvert to reconnect a seasonal channel to the creek, thus reducing road erosion and sedimentation to Mill Creek.
