Document Description
The project proposed with Application 31775 involves storing up to 1,485 acre-feet annually from two unnamed streams and two unnamed springs tributary to Arthur Lake, which is a closed basin. Arthur Lake is a natural lake formed by an ancient lave flow. Enlarging volcanic fissures in the lake bottom have resulted in rapid percolation of water flowing into the lake, causing the lake to dry completely every summer. The applicant proposes to plug the fissures, which will result in the storage of water.
