- Document Description
- The proposed prject consists of replacing and upgrading a California Highway Patrol (CHP) communications facility located at the top of Colby Mountain at about a 6,000 foot elevation. The new facilities are needed to provide the essential communication system for the CHP. The project will construct a new telecommunication tower, an equipment/generator vault, a propane system, photovoltaic system, and supporting infrastructure. The photovoltaic system is necessary because there is no offsite power and the existing Thermal Electrical Generator is too small to meet the new power requirements. The new construction consists of a four leg self supporting 120 foot tower, a radio equipment vault constructed of concrete masonry units, and emergency generator with a new propane system, a photovoltaic array, and fencing.
