Document Description
Enhance the existing playground at Durfee Elementary school as an outdoor eductation area. The site is located in the SE corner of an exisitng turf sports field and consists of approximately 71,894 sq2uare feet (1.65 acres). The project will be developed in two phases, with approximately 34,603 square feet in the first phase and 37,291 square feet in the second phase. The outdoor education area will include a gathering space with benches for seating surrounded by mounded and depressed landscape areas and display different ecological resources of the region including oak woodland, sage scrub and riparian habitat. Trees and shrubs will be part of the display for interpretation by the teachers.
