New federal and state maximum levels of acceptable arsenic in drinking water are 10ppm. Current WWD#1 arsenic levels are in the 17-19 ppm range, resulting in the District being issued a Compliance Order from California Dept. of Public Health. The feasibility study will determine the best arsenic removal technology for the specific water chemistry and operational parameters within WWD#1 (Robbins).
