Document Description
The project consists of a grading permit for the removal of approximately 1,740 cubic yards of contaminated soil and material from a 10-acre portion of the 22.5-acre site before the rainy season begins and the contamination has a pathway to migrate. The remedial goals of this action are to protect ground and surface water and human health. The contaminants of concern are lead, phenol, total petroleum hydrocarbons and volatile organic compounds. The action will include excavating the contaminated soil, stock piling and characterizing the soil and then trucking to an appropriate landfill. Project activities will commence on January 6, 2012 and are expected to take approximately five weeks.
