- The Project purpose is to improve the El Dorado Irrigation District El Dorado Canal system to manage concentrated water flows through Spillway 46 and improve the head works of the 14-Mile Tunnel for safer operations, which will allow the District to remove Spillway 47C because discharges through this facility will no longer be necessary for safe project operations. The proposed Project activities include: 1) replacement of the SW46 structure, 2) extending electricity supply for the new SW46 automated gate and SCADA system, 3) stabilizing the SW46 outfall channel and portions of Randolph Creek, 4) stabilizing the drainage and slide area uphill of SW46, 4) relining approximately 250 feet of the El Dorado Canal, 5) improving the 14-Mile Tunnel head works, and 60 decommissioning SW47C.
