The project will create a functional flood plain by lowering the eastern top-of-bank surface elevation approximately 4-6 ft by grading an approximately 75-150 ft wide zone along an approximately 2,400 ft long section of the river. This will provide flood impact reduction, water quality improvements, and aquatic and terrestrial habitat benefits. The project is continuous with the Denman Reach Phase. CDFW has executed lake and streambed alteration agreement no. 1600-2015-0279-R3, pursuant to section 1602 of the fish and game code to the project applicant, Erica Ahmann Smithies/City of Petaluma.
