Caltrans proposes to rebuild a new "crew room" building for maintenance crew personnel at the Caltrans West Sacramento Maintenance Facility. The project will construct a new crew building parallel and to the east of the existing equipment building in the maintenance yard, where a portable trailer structure currently exists. The Maintenance facility is located near the intersection of South River Road and Tower Street, underneath U.S. Highway 50 (U.S. 50). The current maintenance crew room building is a small, sparse portable building that lacks adequate space, as well as an adequate heating, ventilation, and cooling (HVAC) system for the maintenance employees. The purpose of the project is provide an adequate crew quarters building for the employees, and to build a structure that meets current building code standards.
