Document Description
This project consists of the construction and installation of a SWTP and water conveyance facilities to treat Colorado River Water (CRW) and use the treated water for direct potable uses or recharge of the groundwater basin, which appears to be in overdraft. The water may also be used to directly or indirectly supply neighboring and/or cooperating agencies through various water resource agreements as part of an overall plan for long-term management of water resources in the area. The IWA intends to build up to a 14 million gallons per day (MGD) water treatment facility to treat CRW conveyed in the Coachella Canal. The proposed project also includes the installation of associated facilities to convey treated water to the existing water distribution system and facilities to blend the treated water with the IWA groundwater supplies prior to distribution to the potable water system.
