Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Game is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the Project applicant, Mr. Dave Flynn. The Project consists of reinforcing the El Camino Real at Santa Margarita Creek Bridge (No. 493C0310) to repair scour at bridge foundations. The Project will include dowels being drilled and cemented at various locations along the bottoms of piers No. 2 and No. 3 in the area of the existing scour cavities. Approximately 31 cubic yards of loose sediment and soft, weathered sandstone will be removed in preparation for reinforcement of the cavities. Four-sack grout will be pumped into the cavities to replace the scoured-out sandstone bedrock and prevent further undermining of the structure. If work occurs while surface flows exist in the channel, a dewatering plan will be implemented to divert flows around the work area. The Notification materials, including engineered plans, are made part of the Project Description. An access ramp will be created to allow the equipment to reach the scour area from Santa Margarita Road to the northwest of the Project Area.
