Document Description
An advanced water treatment (AWT) facility will be constructed and operated on site at the Valencia Water Reclamation Plant (WRP). The AWT facility will be a small scale desalination facility that uses microfiltration (MF) for pretreatment followed by reverse osmosis (RO) for chloride removal. The MF/RO will be constructed in the northern part of the Valencia WRP across from the chlorine contact tanks in the area allocated for future expansion of the treatment facilities. A decarbonator for pH adjustment and a small chemical storage station consisting of storage tanks and injection pumps will be constructed near the MF/RO facilities. Operation of the AWT facility will result in production of brine that will be trucked offsite for proper disposal, anticipatedly at the Joint Water Pollution Control Plant in the City of Carson.
