Document Description
The Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) approve a Removal Action Workplan (RAW) for the Los Alamitos Elementary School - Railroad Easement site (Site) pursuant to authority granted under Chapter 6.8, Division 20, California Health & Safety Code. The objective of this Removal Action is to prevent potential exposure due to arsenic-impacted soil by removing arsenic-impacted soil located in a former railroad track easement. The Site was paved into its current condition as a parking lot for the Los Alamitos Elementary School; a small portion of the Site is unpaved but fenced and covered with plastic tarp and sandbags. The RAW focuses on the following activities: 1) excavate and transport approximately 3,832 cubic yards of arsenic-impacted soil to a licensed disposal facility via trucks; 2) import, place, and compact backfill materials; and 3) restore the project area a paved parking lot.
