The purpose of the project is to convert the disinfection chemical utilized at the Reservoir 1 Water Treatment Plant from gaseous chlorine, to liquid sodium hypochlorite. The existing chlorine cylinders will be removed from the facility by the chlorine chemical company, which normally delivers and removes the chlorine cylinders under the same procedures.
