Document Description
The project is limited to repair of one electrical tower pile cap required as a result of corrosion and deterioration caused by the surrounding marine environment. Foundation D of Tower 26/127 of the Bird's Landing Contra Costa 230 kV Line shall be repaired, The project includes cofferdam installation, wrapping the pile cap with a tightly-fitting hermetically sealed polyvinyl chloride (PVC) membrane called Pile-Gard from the mud line to the concrete foundation, application of an underwater epoxy within the aree between the wrap and the concrete, backfill of the area surrounding the pile cap with existing mud, sand, and gravel, and cofferdam removal.
