Document Description
The project proposes to replace six of the eight centrifuge units located within the Centrifuge Building within the treatment plant site. The centrifuges are part of the bio-solids dewatering process and these units are near the end of their lifespan. The new centrifuge units are more energy efficient, will reduce operation and maintenance costs, and will ensure the City is in compliance with the National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit. All construction access will use existing paved roads within the treatment plant and the new centrifuges will be entirely contained within the existing centrifuge structure. No excavation will be required for installation of the new centrifuge units.
