Document Description
The Indian Slough Beaver Dam Removal Project will remove a beaver dam composed of woody, organic material. The beavor dam lies across a tidal-influenced drainage channel that is connected to Indian Slough, part of the Old River watershed. The beaver dam is 40-feet wide, 5-feet high with a 15-foot wide base. The beavor dam is impeding the flow in the drainage and backing up irrigation water. This can cause flooding of the adjacent road and blocks access to the East Bay Municipal District's aqueduct facility nearby. During low tide, there is a 5-foot difference between the water level behind the beaver dam and that on the Indian Slough side to the east.
