Document Description
SMUD proposes to conduct a demonstration that adds energy storage to a residential community, which currently has a PV penetration of about 20 percent of peak feeder load. This research project willl support strategic objectives for integrating distributed renewable energy. SMUD will install and demonstrate a fleet of two PPC's Zinc Bromine Flow Battery energy storage systems in Sacramento, California, one at the SMUD Headquarters (East City Substation) serving the SMUD campus micro-grid, and one at a substation serving the nearby Anatolia III SloarSmart HomesSM community development.
