Document Description
CDFW has executed streambed alteration agreement no. 1600-2015-0236-R2, pursuant to section 1602 of the fish and game code to the project applicant, City of Chico as represented by Brendan Ottoboni. The overall project includes the construction of a paved Class 1 bike path that will cross Comanche Creek via a clear span bridge connecting Ivy St to Otterson Dr. The bike path will continue east toward the Midway, following the former railroad right-of-way. The bike path is identified as a planned facility in the 2012 Chico Urban Area Bike Plan and the Chico 2030 General Plan. The bike path will be composed of an 8-ft wide paved surface with 2-ft graded shoulders on each side of the path. Construction of the clear span bridge and concrete abutments will be outside of the banks of Comanche Creek. A total of 0.01 acre of vegetation, including 1 tree and understory vegetation, within the riparian zone associated with Comanche Creek will be permanently impacted by the bridge and bike path construction activities. An additional 0.01 acre of vegetation, including 4 trees and shrub vegetation, within the riparian zone will be temporarily impacted by the placement of the bridge deck. Temporary impacts will be caused by the required trimming of the trees and shrub vegetation. All vegetation removal will be done by hand.
