The project site is currently used for a diatomaceous earth mining and processing operation, and for commercial timber production. The General Plan land use designations include Mineral Resource, Timber, and Public Land. The Zonings include Mineral Resource Zone district, Timber Production combined with the Mineral Resource Buffer zone district, and the Unclassified zone district.

Document Description
The request is to amend Use Permit 185-78 to include an additional 80-acre area (the north half of APN 022-200-008). All other conditions of the Use Permit would remain as originally approved. The request is also to amend Reclamation Plan 1-78 to include the additional 80-acre area and to reflect current and proposed reclamation practices on the remainder of the reclamation area of the project site.
