Document Description
The Bicycle Facilities and Alternative Transportation Plan is a City-wide Plan for implementing bicycle and pedestrian facilities within the street right of way. The purpose of the plan is to improve the traveling experience when using alternative modes of transportation. The Bicycle Facilities and Alternative Transportation Plan identify various street and sidewalk improvements needed to facilitate travel by bicyclists, pedestrians, transit passengers and travelers with disabilities. Improving the safety and efficiency of alternatives to automobile travel is the over-arching goal of the plan. The State of CA has mandated incorporation of "complete street" planning into the City's transportation planning program. This project will help the City to achieve that goal.
