Document Description
The purpose of the 4 acre project is to reduce understory fuels and to maintain and enhance existing aspen tree stands in the Fallen Leaf Lake watershed. The project involves burning slash piles that were constructed by hand crews. Burning operations will be implemented by hand crews and take place during periods when soils is covered by snow or frozen. The use of fire in a Stream Environment Zone in the Lake Tahoe Basin required a Basin Plan Prohibition Exemption and subsequent CEQA finding.
