Document Description
The Tustin Unified School District Board of Education previously approved the activity center project with the scope of work as described below at its June 27, 2011 Board Study Session. The District proposes to construct a new activity center with two classrooms to better accommodate the existing middle school students and programs. The new development is to improve the educational environment for the existing students, and would not be used for joint-use or districtwide facility beyond what is required by the Civic Center Act and District policy. The new activity center would replace a portion of the existing turf playfield south of the existing 60-space parking lot. The proposed project would provide a new curb cut on Foothill Avenue, approximately 270 feet east from the Hewes Avenue right-of-way and a new marquee at the corner of Hewes Avenue and Foothill Boulevard. The new curb would be used for emergency access only, and no changes to the parking lot or other driveways would result from the proposed project.
