Document Description
The Project would include non-operation of the Oakmont Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) for at least three years starting in May 2012. During this time, the City would continue to maintain the equipment, landscaping, and security features at the Oakmont WWTP, however, all Oakmont wastewater flows would be treated at the City's Laguna Sub regional Water Reuse Facility. Temporary non-operation of the Oakmont WWTP would eliminate the supply or recycled water used by the Oakmont Golf Club for summer irrigation. To mitigate potential environmental impacts, the City would fund water conservation improvements at the Oakmont Golf Club that would offset the current recycled water supply. The water conservation improvements would include grass conversions, a new lake, and improvements to the existing irrigation system.
