Document Description
The WSRCD proposes to implement a shaded fuel break/fuel reduction project on approximately 18.2 acres of land along the north border of Camp Latieze, near Shingletown, Shasta County. This work consists of two steps: 1) chainsaw-cutting of shrubs and small trees to result in an open and well-spaced conifer overstory, followed approximately six months later by: 2) applying the herbicide Glyphosate to brush and hardwood sprouts. The treatment area will be a total width of 300 feet and length of 2,640 feet. The owner of the land, Shasta County, supports the project and has agreed to maintain the fuel break in the future.
