Document Description
The proposed project includes the construction of a concrete masonry block building addition to the existing Plant 1B electrical building to house an emergency diesel generator. The new building would abut and be located along the northeast wall of the existing electrical building. It would be approximately 16 feet wide by 28 feet long by 20 feet tall. Air intake louvers would be located on the north side of the structure, while the exhaust louvers would be located on the east side of the building, facing away from the existing residences. A 2,500 kilowatt diesel generator would be installed within the new building. The generator will be mounted on vibration dampers to lessen any potential for excessive vibrations or increase ambient noise levels. Likewise, critical grade silencers will be installed on the generator to attenuate the noise of the generator.
