The project is the adoption of the Climate Action Plan (CAP), a document that provides an organized framework of goals, strategies, and implementation measures intended to reduce community-wide greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in a manner consistent with AB 32. The CAP builds upon the supports the goals, policies, and implementation measures of the 2030 General Plan through definition of specific implementations mechanisms such as roles and responsibilities fo City departments and partnerships with other agencies, funding sources, and timing. The CAP provides general background information about climate change, current and future (business-as-usual) GHG emissions from sources located within the City, the aniticipated effects of State and federal legislation on future GHG emissions within the City, as well as an analysis of the potential effects of climate change on the City.
