Document Description
The M Ocean View Transit and Safety Project includes construction of 0.5 miles of transit lanes in both directions on San Jose Avenue, 0.2 miles of bike lanes in both directions on 19th Avenue to accommodate existing bike facilities adjacent to the M train network, stop spacing changes on 19th Avenue and San Jose Avenue, five (5) transit boarding islands, four (4) wheelchair-accessible transit boarding islands, six (6) transit bulbs, new traffic signals with transit priority at two (2) intersections, new stop signs at two (2) intersections, five (5) pedestrian bulbs, two (2) pedestrian refuge islands, one (1) sidewalk extension and exhibition driving deterrent treatments. The M Ocean View Transit and Safety Project would result in a net reduction of up to 75 on-street parking spaces. No changes to loading zones are proposed. Adjustments to the design of a wheelchair-accessible transit boarding island at one location, in response to stakeholder feedback, may be included.
