Document Description
The proposed permitting activity is to rework one existing cyclic steam well to isolate perforations, reperforate, and return the well to injection within UIC projects 45403112 and 45403113. The project activity being permitted by the California Geologic Energy Management Division (CalGEM) is within the scope of the PXP 19Z Diatomite Development Plan CEQA Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration (IS/MND). The proposed permitting activity to rework an existing well is addressed in the IS/MND page 72, which provides a list of oil and gas activities covered in the PXP Habitat Conservation Plan and Incidental Take Permit, including: oil and gas production operations; construction, maintenance, and/or abandonment of oil field equipment; and activities required by the Division of Oil, Gas, and Geothermal Resources (now CalGEM).
CalGEM, as the CEQA Responsible Agency, approved a permit for SPR to rework the well listed below, in the McKittrick Oil Field.
