CDFW has executed Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2017-0225-R4, pursuant to section 1602 fo the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Madera County Flood Control and Water Conservation Agency. Project includes activities related to the mechanical removal of accumulated silt, sand, and other sediment, estimated through previous study to be two to three feet in depth, from a 8.6 mile section of Ash Slough and an 8.2 mile section of Berenda Slough, to increase flow capacity of the channels to approx. 5,000 cubic feet per second and return the streams to a design condition initially engineered by the US Army Corps of Engineers at or around 1976.
