Note: Amending previous CEQA The project involves the eradication of Arundo donax from critical portions of Cottonwood Creek, Berenda Creek and Dry Creek and Ash Slough. Heavy Arundo infestation blocks flood flows and causes flood hazards to nearby land as well as fire hazards, habitat deterioration and excessive evapotranspiration of water that could otherwise be used to recharge the overdrafted groundwater.
