Document Description
The Department of Toxic Substances Control is considering approval of a Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Work Plan (RI/FS) for The Formerly Used Defense Site Camp San Luis Obispo to investigate the Munitions Response Sites (MRS)-01, MRS-02, and MRS-05. The United States Army Corps of Engineers has developed the RI/FS to define target areas associated with MRS01, MRS-02, and MRS-05. During the investigation, there is a remote chance that munitions and explosives of concern (MEC) will be found that are unsafe to move. If MEC are found they will need to be disposed of by detonation. The disposal of MEC by detonation is considered a treatment of hazardous waste. This CEQA analysis was performed to determine if the treatment of MEC is anticipated to create a significant impact. The RI/FS Work Plan is incorporated by reference.
