Rule 101 contains general provisions and definitions used by the District, including the definition of voltile organic compounds (VOC). This amendment is to exempt the following compounds from the District's definition of VOC; hydrofluoroether (HFE)-7000, HFE-7300, HFE-7500, methyl formate, dimethyl carbonate, and propylene carbonate. These compounds may be used as refrigerants, aerosol propellants, foam blowing agents, lubricants, degreasers, or components of coatings. This rule will be submitted to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as an amendment to 40 CFR 70 Appendix A for California Section (w).
