Removal Action pursuant of Health & Safety Code, chapter 6.8. Removal Action Workplan was submitted to the Department of Toxic Substances Control on October 4, 2011, by Western Environmental Engineers Co. on behalf of Five Star Synergy, Inc. The RAW entails excavation and removal of contaminated soil and backfilling with clean fill dirt. DTSC and the landowner will enter into land use convenants to restrict use to commercial/industrial uses for areas with residual contaminant levels in soil and soil gas. The estimated total removal volume is 46 cubic yards, or approximately three truck loads. After the excavation of contaminated soil is completed there will be further investigation of groundwater that may be contaminated. For any groundwater left in place, an Operations, Maintenance, and Monitoring plan and LUC to restrict groundwater use will be submitted to DTSC for approval.
