Document Description
Project will consist of placing dead tamarisk biomass into piles and burning. Work will include piling tamarisk that has already been cut or pulled out of the ground as well as cutting dead standing tamarisk throughout Carrizo Wash southwest of the S2 highway. Some existing piles will be moved away from existing native vegetation. Once piled, crews will burn piles in place under safe burning condition.

No potential for significant impacts to the environment is anticipated in compliance with Section 15300.2. Project consists of minor public alterations in the condition of vegetation which do not involve removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees and is listed as "Prescribed burns to restore native vegetation, reduce fuel loads, and control invasive exotic or alien species" in the Department's list of exempt activities in accordance with CCR S 15300.4.
