Document Description
Rehabilitate and repair the Dairy House at Point Lobos Ranch to use as a state residence.
Work will:
- Remove failed foundation and replace with new concrete footing and interior post and pier foundation system;
- Remove non-original lean-to addition and replace with new addition containing bedroom, accessible bathroom and two closets;
- Remove wall paneling, windows and door on North porch restoring original open air configuration;
- Repair porch steps and wood windows; and
- Widen existing door openings from 28 inches to 30 inches to provide accessible passage.
All salvageable historic fabric will be retained and re-used where feasible in repair work. All replacement material will match original in size, dimension, species, etc. All work will be documented with a written description and photo-documentation will occur during all phases of the project.
