Document Description
The project is limited to the replacement of a 57' section of failed/failing redwood retaining wall along Hulbert Creek. The 20 foot section laying in the creek and the remaining 37' of standing retaining wall will be removed. A new 12' high gabion wall will be constructed in its place and embedded 3' into the stream bed to account for potential scour. The newly constructed gabions will be attached to the existing gabion downstream of the site. On the upstream side of the retaining wall the gabion wall has been designed in such a way that the carrying capacity of Hulbert Creek has not been altered. Issuance of a Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2011-0325-R3 is pursuant to Fish and Game Code Section 1602.
