Document Description
The proposed Project involves renovations and tenant improvements to a portion of an existing building. The work area will encompass approximately 1,447 square feet, and will include patching, painting and carpeting, upgrading various building systems (electrical, mechanical, ceiling, etc.), and re-installing cabinetry and furniture. The proposed Project will not increase the existing building square footage. The work area will be occupied by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, and the proposed Project will improve the work area to meet current public health and safety standards, as well as Department space standards. Prior to the proposed Project, the occupancy load of the work area was thirty-two (32). Upon completion of the proposed Project, the occupancy load of the work area will be twenty (20).

Reasons for Exemption
The proposed Project involves renovations and tenant improvements to a portion of an existing building. The condition of the existing building is attributable to its age and is not the result of an environmental hazard. Upon completion of the proposed Project, the work area will continue to be used as office space, and will meet current standards of public health and safety. Upon completion of the proposed Project, the occupancy load of the work area will increase by twelve, but will not affect the square footage of the work area. The facility is not located in a sensitive environmental setting. All necessary public services are currently available to the facility.
